Mango Fruit in the Philippines is the Certified World's Biggest
This 3.5-kilo mango from Iligan City in the Philippines is the world's biggest! Remember that the 2.4-kilo mango from Canada was used to be hailed as the biggest, and now that there's a 3.4 kilo mango, I can't imagine if someone will dare to produce a bigger one unless they plan to genetically modify any of the species of mango trees available on the planet!
The world's biggest mango is a product of Sergio and Maria Socorro Bodiongan which are native of the above city. Last September, Guinness Book of World Records certified the Iligan's mango fruit as the biggest in the world. Due to its extraordinary size, the mango was featured in Sundayag Festival at Cagayan de Oro City in 2009. The Department of Agriculture laud the certification and gave the family of Bodiongan cash incentive.
