The Richmonde Hotel

The Richmonde Hotel is a nice place to stay here in Pasig City. I've been to Astoria Plaza Hotel which is also good but I think that Richmonde is quite better. My stay here will be until Friday because I need to do some interview work with corporate leaders here in Manila on the project I'm working on.

Some of the things that I really look at when it comes to choosing hotel room aside from the budget are the entertainment gadgets and kitchen utensils available for use. If I am to compare this with other hotels, I think that Richmonde Hotel is better. Imagine having a Samsung high definition TV set on the dining/receiving area and others with outdated TV with poor reception. The hotel accommodation package we pay at other hotels is the same (or even cheaper) here at The Richmonde Hotel with far better facilities.

The street is very busy. This is due to the many sympathizers who are flocking on Manila Cathedral attending Former Philippine President Cory Aquino's wake.

Perfect Swiss Holiday Vacation

I travel a lot so hotel accommodation is one of things I consider the most in terms of the amount of expenses related to it and all the amenities tied up to the service. Many times, I also look into the place's architectural design along with the cuisine served in the in-house restaurant. You wouldn't want to wake up being served with some food you don't eat.

The interiors finish and furniture are also important to me. The furniture design should go with the overall color of the ceiling, floors and the theme of the hotel itself although some hotels offers varied room theme accommodating various customers' taste.

I think that countryside Swiss Hotels are the best place to stay especially if you are in a far away place like Switzerland. My sister who had the opportunity to visit Switzerland shares this rewarding experience of staying in a country hotel. She shared about her memorable experiences with talking to the locals and eat native food served in the area.

Aside from being able to get all the amenities of a usual five star hotel, you'll also get the country-feel of the area and feel safe even when you stay in the middle of the night.

What is "typically Swiss" to me is being able to visit Alps, the oldest rivers in Switzerland, the borders that separates Switzerland from its neighbor countries, and the many old yet fun traditions (cheese making, medieval ways of making paper, visiting the many grape vineyards in the countryside).

Corazon Aquino's Interment a Special Non-Working Holiday

The President of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared August 5, as a special non-working holiday (Proclamation No. 1851) to pay respect to an outstanding leader, crusader, wife, and a mother Corazon "Cory" Aquino. The president will even offer mass to show just much she respect the former leader who had participated in various political movements in the past. I think that its the right thing to do no matter how much differences they may have in terms of their political views. Every leader deserves respect.

Tomorrow will be Cory Aquino's interment. The whole nation salutes the former leader who gave the nation pride and national identity after Ferdinand Marcos'regime. I hope that she was able to inspire men and women in the public office to follow her her many good examples.

I travel a lot so I know exactly how it helps you gain a lot of wonderful memories about the places you visit and the people who lives there. I myself look at the uniqueness of people's culture including the many traditions helped shaped the people's values in the area.

One of the few countries I'd like visit in Europe is Switzerland. Switzerland is one of the few countries which uses Spanish, German, and French as some of their official languages. This fact alone intrigues me and leads me into thinking just how open-minded these people might get considering the many languages they are exposed to.

My cousins who have been there relates the stories of locals who shares their creepy experience about the many ghost appearances around the area. Cory Aquino Dead at 76

The former Philippine President (11th), Corazon "Cory Aquino", died yesterday (August 1, 2009 at 3:18 a.m). She died of cardiopulmonary arrest as a complication to her colon cancer. She was was diagnosed of having colon cancer on March 2008.

The Philippines owes the restoration of democracy to Cory Aquino when she became president after the former President Ferdinand Marcos was removed from office due to People Power Revolution.

My condolences to Cory Aquino's family. May she rest in peace.

Ergonomic Inflatable Beds

A few days ago, one of my nieces complained about back problems. I didn't give it much attention because it might be perhaps with a posture or due to playing too much. It somehow continued for a month forcing me to have it checked by a doctor.

Good thing the doctor didn't see anything bad about the bone itself but it somehow was attributed to the kind of inflatable bed we bought her. Beware of Fake Flu Vaccines

I saw this on TV. There was a fake version of Vaxigrip, an anti-flu vaccine that is used to fight seasonal flu and not A(H1N1) virus. This was confirmed by Department of Health after a successful confiscation of counterfeit Vaxigrip vaccines of Sanofi Pasteur. It was found out that the fake Vaxigrip vaccine was sold way cheaper than the regular Vaxigrip vaccine.

The consumers are ill-equipped with determining if a certain drug or vaccine is fake or genuine since consumers don't get to buy these products on a daily basis. It saddens me that the world is really dirty that people make money at the expense of others. I believe that they should put tougher punishments for people who sell or manufacture fake drugs. Its sick, unreasonable, and unacceptable.

Working Graveyard For Three Days

I've started working graveyard last Monday starting from 9pm-7:00am due to the project I was handling. It was fun working with supervisors add to the fact that you are be able to see your previous colleagues at work who work in the GY shift.

I have no problems with Arroyo's performance though. She has done better than the past presidents since Ferdinand Marcos. I didn't like her personally, but she's been the toughest president I have ever seen next to Marcos. She deserves more than a commendation for a job well done.

I guess that we should all think of helping the government instead of plan to desstabilize it. We cannot achieve a strong republic if we will go to the street and encourage the people to topple every government that we have. I think this is unfair and an act that will best describe the phrase manipulation of the weak.

HIV in the Philippines

The growing number of Filipinos contracting HIV is alarming according to the recent news. The news was aired by Bandila, ABS-CBN's flagship news program. I stay late during weekdays just so I could keep myself updated with all the things that's happening in the Philippines before I sleep and this is when I found out about this sad news.

According to the news, there were around 322 newly recorded case of HIV infection in the country adding to the more than 3,000 (approximately 3,911) HIV cases recorded since 1984. Just May of this year alone, the Philippines has 85 new cases of HIV-positive individuals. Males occupy the largest percentage of the total number of Filipinos who have HIV (88 percent; 36 percent of the 88 percent are homosexuals).

The director of the United Nations Development Programme, Renaud Meyer, has recently announced allocating $1.5 million budget to help the Philippines create a development program to help fight the disease.

Abstinence, monogamy, and wearing the necessary protection help in preventing the transmission of HIV. I just hope that scientists will soon come up with an effective vaccine or cure for HIV/AIDS.

In my previous post, i wrote about me buying a new bed for my room. I happened to have an old bed which I think needs replacement. Obama on Health Issues

I am not really into politics but I would like to take this opportunity to really show my admiration to the US President Obama on pushing the kind of reform on health care. I wish we had something similar in the Philippines but the one we have here is not as robust as that of the US. Planning a Vacation

With so much stress I’ve been experiencing for the past few days for my projects, I feel like I want to have a vacation anytime soon. I even started dreaming about spending a vacation in Boracay while I’m in a lovely cottage equipped with rustic furniture and scented candles. Sweet!

The local airline is selling tickets 50% off of their original price. I’ll probably book for myself and a friend so I could plan for a vacation next month. I believe that we need to reward ourselves from time-to-time for a job well done.

I believe you guys have heard about a video Chris Brown recently released online apologizing for his physical assault against her girlfriend (yes, but no but yes!) Rihanna.

Inexcusable? Yes it is. But I think given any situation unless a woman is the one's on the attack, women should be treated with respect and care. Rihanna's parent probably are very angry about what Chris Brown did to her. But what I admire about Chris Brown is his courage of facing the public asking for forgiveness both from his and Rihanna's fans.

What I was thinking is that Brown's manager might be trying to appease public's angst about Brown's behavior considering that his Graffiti Album will be out before the end of this year. I smell something really bad...

For the past few months, I've been receiving comments from an anonymous commenter distastefully bashing my writings. Although I do not have any problem with that in the first place since I really don't give much attention to destructive criticisms, it was actually one of the reasons why I have to moderate the comments on my blogs.

I believe that this person is someone I know who doesn't seem to like me. We cannot please everybody and I am aware of that. Although I appreciate the added readership on my blog, but what I don't understand is that this person keeps commenting on my blog negatively on a daily basis telling me the same negative things about my blog and the people I feature in here. Its so unfair that this person tells bad things about the people I care about when I don't see any probable cause why he should be that bitter in the first place. I am starting to feel uncomfortable though. I now understand why most people despise stalking and value privacy so much.

I just hope that this person stops bugging me and find something else more profitable and humanitarian to do. People are people. No one is perfect. This anonymous commenter should realize that this is my personal blog which reflects about daily experiences in life and things that interests me. I apologize for the rant. Although reviews are going around the net like rain but I still don't want to get tempted to read them not until I watch it myself so that it won't affect how I see the movie. The problem with reading reviews before watching them adds prejudice to your brain which makes you appreciate the movie less.'

SM City Pampanga Grand Wifi Launch

I'll be attending this year's SM City Pampanga Grand Wifi Launch which will start tomorrow at 10:00 AM. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping to win but I probably will be asking someone to lend me his laptop because I do not have a personal one. I have one in the company but I don't like the idea of using it or taking out for use outside the building.

Fire Ant Mound

Perhaps I already talked about fire ant infestation in the past in my previous blog entries. Because we live in a highly forested area, it is normal to see fire ant mound or even termites around your house.

I particularly do not attempt to destroy the mound because it’s too risky and it might cause the fire ant to travel the more. Just last week, I had the mound destroyed by a pest exterminator by using a special type of chemical on my lawn. Although I was told that I won’t see the full result not until three days from now, there is already a significant reduction in the amount of fire ant around our house. I think the pest treatment was effective.

I really do not give home improvement much thought until I visited a friend’s house over the weekend. My friend’s house is kind of small but it has everything he needs from a good bathroom, enough number of furniture and one master bedroom and two extra guest rooms but one thing that really catches my attention was the material used on its home’s exterior. He is now fully recovered and is now staying at his home in Hertfordshire. Because of this, he will then be able to attend the premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in London. Even artists are not spared from Swine Flu or A(H1N1)'s wrath.

Climate Change for Real

I was about to leave yesterday when the weather suddenly became bad. It was raining so hard so I have to stay for a while in the office. My parents were sending me text messages asking me if I am OK because apparently almost all trees in the street are being uprooted due to the force created both by wind and heavy rain.

After a few hours, the rain stopped along with the powerful wind blows. It leaves huge trees and boulders lying along the street. The road is heavily flooded and both the pedestrians and cars are stuck. I was really shocked by the turn of events yesterday. I feel like a devil passed by and destroyed stuffs and left in seconds. It was a full wrath. Is this what scientists really mean by climate change?

I am a big fan of Armani Exchange denim because they last long and you can pair them up with a good top to have have a casual look. Armani has redefined what fashion is really about for men. Money will never be a problem as long as the jeans is made of high quality material. And because it was made of the finest fabric does not fade that fast.

Take a look at the top three jeans I have in the picture above. I picked up slim fit and slouch cut because aside from being trendy they are a good fit to my rather think legs. The loose cut doesn't seem to fit me well.

But I probably think that this is one way for her to redefine herself and get public's attention once again as in the case of other artists who wants to revive their career and get to the limelight. This picture seems more like a Madonna to me.

Investing on Personal Development Courses

In my previous post, I have written about my interest in setting up my own internet business in the future particularly an online store where I could sell clothing and on-occasion apparel.
I probably have not given it much attention lately because I am still conceptualizing the best setup for my business but I am thinking of setting up a small boutique for the meantime where I could house my existing clothing collection.

Now, I am considering enrolling for an Elearning course which I could take in my own phase and availability. The course Home Business: Choosing a Business looks appealing to me as it relates to what I really want to pursue as an internet marketing enthusiast. The course gives me a heads up on establishing the right business for me and pros and cons of business partnership.

I think that this will help me a great deal in terms of accomplishing my objective of learning the rudiments or basics of business while I improve my skills in clothing design. I’ll definitely want others to take on a new challenge in their career and consider enrolling for self-development courses like the one above to further their personal career. We need to be more competitive than ever to rise up to the challenges of life by making sure that we take ownership of our personal development through by taking such career and personal improvement programs.

Living My Dream

I thought that this is a very good avenue for me to share with you guys about my plan for next year. I know that I am not getting any younger so I would like to polish my plans for next year.

You guys know that I love learning languages and that on September 6, I'll turn 28. Spanish is one of my favorites although German is the first foreign language I ever learned in the University of the Philippines. I just decided to stop for the meantime because it gets really difficult when you study and work at the same time. So I am giving myself a chance by planning to study full time next year while saving a lot these days. I am asking you to pray for me so that I could fulfill my plans in the future.

I hate the feeling of waking up in the morning and realizing that you are living a life that you never envisioned to live years ago. Hopefully, I am not the only one who's experiencing it.

I've been receiving a lot of email purportedly from Google for the past two days. Beware because the email looks pretty much like from Google. The link in the email appears to be "http://google.com/...." but if you will hover your mouse to the link, it appears that its from www.nautilusdiving.com. Beware of this email and website for they are scam. I myself almost fell from their. I hope Google gets to know that this is going on.
