Sizzling Pepper Steak Restaurant at Marquee Mall

Restaurant Name: Sizzling Pepper Steak
Location: Ayala Marquee Mall, Angeles City
Cuisine: Japanese

Last week, a friend and I thought of eating something Japanese so we head on to the mall and scouted for a restaurant serving Japanese food. The Sizzling Pepper Steak at Marquee Mall in Angeles City seems new to me so we drop by.

The food is great and has very similar preparation to Teriyaki Boy restaurant. The interior is cozy and well-lighted. Each table has their own exhaust which is pretty interesting. I ordered Beef Curry Pepper Rice (PhP235), Watermelon Shake (PhP130), the super delicious cream corn soup for PhP55.00 (this is a must try). My friend ordered Herbed Chicken Steak (PhP180) and watermelon shake, too. It was a bit expensive but I can assure you that you'll be satisfied.

The food is served on black hot plates. The Beef Curry Pepper I ordered is half-cooked so I need to "cook" it while the plate is hot. You have to actually mix it with rice after its fully cooked and add sauce afterwards.

The ordering system is quite different, too. Each table has a stand with printed green (stop) and red (moo-oove!) paperbacks. You don't have to raise your hands (or feet, oh jeez no!) to get the attention of the waiters. Flip it up to make the green paperback appear and they'll quickly assist you. We're satisfied with the service and the food. The Herbed Chicken Steak is quite salty though. But its great overall!

Your watermelon drink wouldn't qualify as a "shake" here in the U.S. Shakes are made with ice cream and fruit or chocolate. This looks more like a soda (or pop). The restaurant sounds a lot like our Benny Hana eateries. I can't comment on the prices though because I don't know the exchange.

I have yet to try this. We've tried Pepper Lunch though. It was good too, but quite pricey.
