Is Philippines Really Poor?

If Philippines is poor, why do we have:

• Six Big Malls in Our Small Town
• Buildings Being Built Everywhere
• Even a two-year old kid knows how to speak English (taught by a local teacher; now Spanish is reintroduced)
• Brand new and high-end cars everywhere
• Coffee shops swarming like bees
• Malls-wide unlimited and free wi-fi connectivity
• Plan of introducing Clark-wide wi-fi internet connection (in our city alone)
• Too many Koreans and Indians studying English and Medicine respectively here in our city
• Schools every street corner
• Banks built every month, on every corner of each street in our city (well, true)
• People spending like there's no tomorrow?
