Sony DSC-H50 Review

Sony DSC-H50 ReviewFor the past few months, I've been looking for a camera that will help me enhance the quality of photos I post on my blog. A friend who just arrived in the US bought herself a new and neat Sony DSC-H50 camera.

I thought at first that its a DSLR camera but it isn't. Its a plain point-and-shoot camera. But not so fast. The Sony DSC-H50 is not just a plain point-and-shoot camera because it has a very powerful lens at 9.1 standard mega pixel camera with 15 optica zoon and a host of elegant camera features. Beat that. This is a good start for people who aren't very particular with DSLR vs. point-and-shoot camera but mind you, the Sony DSC-H50 can compete neck-and-neck with Nikon d40 when it comes to picture quality.

But one thing that turned me off with this camera is its inability to do manual focus. Everything is digital and this makes me want to go back to Nikon d40 instead. If you are buying cameras, better buy it in the US instead of buying it from local distributors in the Philippines. The difference is way too big! Imagine getting this camera for USD$370 in the US vs. 550 in the Philippines. I think I'm experiencing a headache.

i'm still excited by my little ol' SLR Cannon Rebel. I never quite understood the difference between SLR and DSLR.
